An import part or function of this site is to provide resources and information.  Often in workshops and discussions things will be discussed where the information is rather straight forward and perhaps for one reason or another the notes were missed.  This may be a place to get “handouts,”  outlines, or further information.

Often what happens in the group activities and for the way the learning activities take place is to keep building toward those moments when one goes, “ah ha,” and it all seems to fit together.  Sometimes retracing the steps taken to get there are not easy to recall.  It is hoped that this area of the site will help to provide an outline of those steps to help fill in the gaps.

Buntin-MAR is a  company that was conceived over ten years ago.  The MAR stands for More Abundant Resources.  From the outset the goal of the company was to discover and to provide resources that would help to make people more successful and productive in life.

Buntin-MAR has evolved into becoming primarily a motivational, personal improvement company.  The founder, Vernon Buntin, is an ordained minister and registered nurse.  Much of his time in nursing has been spent as a psychiatric nurse.  As such, many of the people that he worked with were either depressed, mentally ill or having problems getting free of substance abuse.

Out of that background, motivation became a major goal.  The question was how does one remotivate and encourage someone to pick up their life and to get enthusiastic about living again, particularly when they are suicidal and ready to really give up on living?  How do you resell someone on life.  How do you sell them on taking their own life back?  Out of many group experiences and activities some very encouraging ideas began to emerge.  It is from those experiences that Buntin-MAR began to take shape.

Many people have been helped over the years as a result of the groups and talks both in the areas of mental illness and substance abuse and recovery.  It our hope to share those ideas with you.  And it does not matter that you may not have a substance abuse problem or mental illness,  these talks were always geared to talking to everyday people in an effort to improve their success and enjoyment in life.  We welcome your comments.

Tuesday, December 5, 11am at Brookdale Community College, Vernon will be giving a talk on Grief Process.  This program was requested by the college after the recent loss of one the students and his friend in a tragic automobile accident on the way to school.

This is not meant to be a morbid discussion about a tragic loss but to look at losses in general way and how they can be turned around to be very productive areas of life.  There is something of value to be gained out of every loss.  In every great loss there are great things to be celebrated and remember that help to make us who we are.

Of all of the workshops that we do, this is one of the most favored.  It is a workshop to be enjoyed and celebrated.  It is meant to be very motivating.  Losses are common to every day life.  The more competent we are at resolving them, the better we are at life.

Brookdale College has hosted this workshop in the past.  Many have reported that they greatly helped despite having weeks of therapy.  Grief: exploring the process of resolving the loss and moving on is an exciting workshop.  You won’t want to miss it.
